The U12's travelled to the Wymondham Festival on Saturday to take on the best teams from the area. The revised schedule was not helpful for Beccles with all four of our games in a row with no break, but the boys took this on with a gusto.
Starting with a player short against the hosts Wymondham (who were equipped with two teams worth of players), the Beccles boys took a few minutes to get into the swing of the game quickly leaking two tries, but then suddenly woke up, putting in dominant tackles and turning over the ball with ease. The final score, being a draw, was a good result for the boys.
Bury St. Edmunds were up next. A really close fought game with both sides putting it some great performances.
Third game without a break was Norwich. The previous time these sides had met, Norwich clearly dominated, however that was last time! The boys played some fantastic rugby ensuring they kept Norwich at bay. A single score separated the sides in a great game to watch!
Finally the boys took on North Walsham. By this time, the boys were starting to tire, not yet having had a break in the schedule against a team who had just rested up and seemed to have been drilled in some dark arts. Although during the last few minutes, the tired defence resembled a sieve, the boys stood up well for the majority of the game against some hard play.
Player of the Day was Freddie who had a great set of matches!
