The away team started positively and pilled on the pressure early. Norwich were forced into conceding some early penalties and Walker made the most of it, slotting one in front of the posts giving Beccles the early advantage. Beccles continued their positive play when it was again Walker with a well spotted line break from halfway that left the defence at ones and twos and with a delicate offload it was Sam Fobbester who crashed over for a try.
With the half coming to a close, Norwich were able to capitalise off of a quick line out and after a speedy ruck in midfield they were able to go wide and grab themselves a hit and run try against the run of play. The score at half time, 5-8 to Beccles.
The second half started with Norwich trying to assert themselves and they were rewarded for their efforts when for the second time they caught Beccles napping, a quickly taken penalty from halfway and some nice running lines resulted in their second try.
As the game progressed Beccles had some chances with some resilient runs from Adams, but were unable to capitalise on trips to the opposition twenty-two.
A recent addition to World Rugby Laws sees "Goal-line dropouts" replacing an attacking scrum when the ball is carried over the try line, Beccles found themselves clearing from exactly this. Norwich gathered the kick and were able to dissect the defence, a couple of missed tackles resulted in Norwich running underneath the posts for their third try.
The full time whistle blew soon after, the final score 17-8 to Norwich 2's. Beccles will look to bounce back strongly next week at home when they welcome Diss 2's to Beef Meadow.
