Beccles went into the game with a lot of their backline missing due injury and unavailability. They were still able to field a strong team however. There was a debut for new recruit Smit in the centre and a return from injury for Arnold on the bench.
Beccles again started the game slowly and took a while to get into the game. They conceded a lot of turnovers early on but gradually began to play their way in to some rhythm.

Beccles pinned Norwich in their 22, keeping the ball alive and offloading well. Shucksmith completed his hattrick, crashing through the Norwich defence. He added a fourth for himself as well soon after in similar fashion to complete a man of the match performance.
Beccles had Holtzer sent to the sin bin midway through the second half but this didn’t slow them down and they continued to press the opposition. Pitts got in on the action, powering round the side of a ruck to score a try of his own.
Straight from the kick off a loose ball was hacked in behind the Norwich defence with Beccles players chasing through. They retained the ball and it was fed out to the backs with Gedney going over for the try. He added the conversion to make it four from four in the second half.
The final score was 40 – 0. This was a good win for Beccles after a slow start. They now have a week off before they travel to Diss 2s.
