The bull's were able to glide past fourth place Thetford 34-5 in a game where Beccles' defence got them the win. The game started with Beccles on the back foot, giving up possession very early around midfield but what ever Thetford threw at them, Beccles were equal to it. After fifteen minutes, the boys in green were able to get some field position and captain Tris Holtzer was able to go over for a try. Beccles were able to get some confidence behind them and soon a lineout deep into opposition territory gave them a great chance for another try, a driving lineout followed and it was Seb Morton who came away with the try. With the wind behind them, Beccles were looking dangerous whenever they had ball-in-hand, a quick breakaway from the backs and some great support-play gave Jack Baldry his try. Not long had passed until Hooker Seb Morton found himself in open space around the halfway. He managed to beat a player and then as the fullback came in to tackle him, he gave him the goose-step, giving him time to run it in for his second and Beccles' fourth of the day. As the half came to a close Beccles were in the drivers seat with a scoreline of 26-0 for the second game in a row not letting opposition score late in the first half.
The second half kicked off, the toll of the pitch was starting to wear-off as players were figuratively and literally running through mud. Beccles relinquished much of their possession to Thetford, tactical kicks coming by the boots of Hannam and Kauri. Winger James Sisley made it a nightmare for Thetford with his non-stop work-rate on the kick-chase, hard tackling in the collision and even making line-breaks himself. Thetford were able to get one try back but soon Beccles answered with a try through Michael Suchy and a penalty kick to keep the opposition well clear. The game finished 34-5 to Beccles, a great win against a good team. Motm was James Sisley.
