Beccles came into this game against Crusaders sitting bottom of London Eastern Counties 3, Crusaders fairing not much better with only one win to their name prior to this match.
The game kicked off and Beccles soon established rhythm when in possession but also keeping their shape and having an unrelenting work rate when playing defence; on multiple occasions forcing the turnovers in the first thirty minutes. During this period of play, Beccles were able to rack up a healthy score lead. Stu Adams was able to get a score off an unstoppable driving lineout while a fair amount of anticipation gave Jake Loader his second of the year. Crusaders were able to get one of their own, but Blair Hannam was able to get yet another one for Beccles. All this before Jack Baldry topped the scoring off with a strong run, able to shake-off a couple of would-be defenders. However, on the cusp of halftime Crusaders were able to gather a string of phases together that resulted in a crucial try. Making the halftime score 24-12 to Beccles.
The second half kicked off, Crusaders had gathered some momentum from that last try and were running rampant with ball in hand. Despite some good tackling from Arnold and jackling by Maeer; Injuries soon took their toll with both sides losing key ball carriers. Crusaders were able to get a try after ten minutes, and with all the second half possession they were able to get yet another; making the scoreline 26-24 to them. Beccles had dropped their heads at this point having been out scored by twenty-one points in the last thirty-five minutes of play. There was still ten minutes of play left but Beccles were left clueless as a Crusaders penalty with a couple of minutes left all but sealed the game. Final score was 29-24 to Norwich Crusaders.

Beccles will feel devastated by this loss, one that they let slip through their fingers. Beccles were however able to scrap away two bonus points from this match up, as they reset their sights on their next game against Fakenham on the 16th November.
The 2nd team picked up their second win in a row when they defeated Lakenham by 31 – 10 at Beef Meadow.
