After Beccles missed a penalty, Norwich bettered them a couple minutes later with their own converted penalty. Both teams were shaky on their own lineouts, to begin with. However, young Sisley opened the scoring for Beccles, showing great speed down the side of the pitch. The Beccles pack had begun to do well in the scrums but Medics then scored to put their side ahead. Not too soon after though Beccles had captain Gedney go over the whitewash for a half time score of 12-10.
Second half kicked off, this time the lineouts for Beccles began to turn around, and with the pack still going forwards in the scrum it gave the backs space to move with. Kauri managed a great solo effort, Chipping ahead twice and outpacing his defender. Beccles managed another try, this time between experienced players Johnstone and Holtzer, the latter getting the try. Despite the growing lead, much of the ball game was played in Beccles half. The Bulls giving up much of the possession in favour of territory, but Medics done well to work it into the Beccles' 22 on more than one occasion. This payed dividend when Medics got their second try and were able to narrow the score to 26-15 with 10 minutes to play. But another smash and grab penalty by Beccles all but secured the win.
Despite the fairly one sided score line, it was a competitive match, one that highlighted areas of weakness for both teams to improve on. Beccles face North Walsham 2's next week away in a similar fashioned game.
MOTM was hooker Seb Morton with a great second half.
Kauri got 3/4 conversions and 2/3 penalties.
