Beccles welcomed Diss 2's at home in their second league game of the season. Coming off a win last week and with new arrivals Kauri (NO. 9) and Hannam (NO.10) debuting for the club, the Bulls had high hopes for this match up.

Beccles started sluggishly, giving up much of the possession early on which ended up with Diss getting a try within the first five minutes.
Unlike last year where maybe this would have inhibited Beccles' performance, it did almost the polar opposite. From the following kick off Beccles managed to regain possession immediately; a common trend in this game. Beccles' first try came from a string of Scrums where they bulldozed the opposition pack (another reoccurring theme in this game) leading to an easy try from NO.8 Maeer. Beccles managed to keep the pressure on, playing most of the rugby in Diss' half. New signing Kauri managed to go over for his first try after a good run. Two minutes to go before half time, Diss were able to get there second try from a quick counter that took Beccles by surprise due to some great supporting runs by their players. Beccles went into half time up by 12 points to 10.
The second half carried on much the same way the first half had gone. Beccles having the majority of possession and territory thanks to some great kicking by Kauri and scrummaging by the forwards.
Two more Beccles tries were scored, Kauri getting his second of the game and captain Gedney getting the other one. This put Beccles in a promising 16 point lead with momentum going their way. It didn't last long as Diss managed to go over for two unanswered tries in the next 20 minutes through mistakes on Beccles' behalf.
With their lead cut to 6 points and 5 minutes left, Beccles were awarded a penalty in front of the posts which was calmly slotted away.
The final score was 29-20, despite letting in four tries, the frailties of the team look to be improving, cutting out the mistakes with ball in hand and building on what could be a promising start to a successful season.
MOTM was Arnold; Kauri got 3 conversations and 1 penalty
