Beccles fielded a changed side again from the team that had beaten Thurston the previous week and struggled to adapt. They came up against a big Wisbech team who played some good running rugby.
In the first half Beccles defended well despite coming under some intense pressure from Wisbech. Wisbech were made to work hard for their three tries and at 17 -0 at half time Beccles felt they were still in with a shout in the second half.
Particular credit must go to Hall and Driver for some good tackles. Man of the Match Driver in particular regularly tackled guys a lot bigger than him.
Beccles began to tire as the second half went on and Wisbech began to run in tries more easily. They scored regularly towards the end of the game to give a final score of 46 – 0.
Beccles travel to Colchester thirds on Saturday needing a win to get their season back on track.
The second team got Home Walkover when Fakenham couldn’t get a team to travel. This week the entertain Holt.
