Looking to improve on the performance two weeks ago against Peterbourgh, the Bulls took to the field for their final preseason friendly in what was sure to be a closely contested game against Thetford RUFC.

Beccles got off to a great start with a slick backs move and some strong running from Dom Flynn and Elias Smith put the latter in for an opening try only a few minutes into the action. A period of lack of concentration and frustrating moments found Thetford firing back with a couple of tries to put Beccles behind at the break.

An inspired second half performance featured tries from Seb Morton, Tris Holzter and Archie Wallis alongside some strong defensive play from the entire team.

Man of the Match was Seb Morton.

Beccles kick off their league campaign on the 18th September with the 1st team home to Wymondham 2s and the 2nd team away at Lakenham.
