Beccles began the game on the front foot and never really took the foot off the pedal. The first 20 minutes was dominated by Beccles but 4 turnovers in the broadlands 22 kept the Bulls from scoring. This changed 15 minutes from half-time when Calton when over for his first try of the game after a good run and off load by Larkworthy. The bulls added 2 more tries before the half ended (Armstrong and another from Calton).
Just after the second half resumed, the boys made sure to keep the pressure on, resulting in a quick Harrison try. In the second half Barret came on and with immediate effect, going through the back line at pace, the broadlands drift defence couldn't keep up and were exposed once more on the wing. Cameron Bonner made his first appearance for almost a year, coming back from a season ending injury. He demonstrated some strong running and topped it off with a try and an assist (leading to Barrets second try of the night).
Leigh Gedney was 6/7 from conversations.
A better result than last week, but the young team still have to prove they can do this more regularly and against stiffer opposition.
