After two byes in the earlier rounds Beccles were straight in to the third round of the RFU Junior Cup to face Royston at Beef Meadow. Royston are currently fifth in Herts and Middlesex 1.
Leigh Gedney took over as captain with regular captain Johnstone out with a sickness bug.
Beccles were not at the races in the first half and allowed Royston in for four tries to take control of the game.
In the second half Beccles only had pride to play for and put in a much better performance. They drew the half 7-7. The try came from Stuart Armstrong with Gedney adding the conversion. Man of the Match was Darren Fisher for his tireless work around the park.
