He brings with him a great deal of experience of club management and an extensive network of former players, sponsors and supporters that he will be looking to engage with once again. Michael is committed to helping to develop and grow all aspects of the club from the senior section all the way down to our Mini’s and Tiny Bulls!

Following his appointment, Michael would like to address all club members, both past and present, with the following open letter:

“I am honoured to represent Beccles Rugby as club chairman. I look forward to working with the committee to build on the solid progress in recent years with Tony Knights as chair.

One of my aims is to encourage more former players back to the club to support our teams and even have a run out. The playing squad has been bolstered by recruits from the colts and elsewhere who have showed real potential. The seniors played some thrilling rugby to finish last season, it is well worth coming down to watch!

Another aim is to support our youth section even further by developing our school’s program and introducing further events and festivals to promote our talent of the future!

As we approach our 60th anniversary I also want to acknowledge the hard work and time given by so many people to help all sections of the club in that time. From my 43 years involvement with Beccles rugby, I know most of you and will be in contact!”
